Porter’s Mitre 10 FAQ’s

1. What will this business acquisition and partnership mean for Mackay & Whitsunday customers?

Porters have been delivering to the Mackay & Whitsunday community for 134 years in 2017. We are looking to the future and are excited to announce the next development for the company is the acquisition of the Woodman’s hardware stores: Cannonvale, Proserpine, Marian & Sarina stores and an alliance with Mitre 10 Group Australia.

From settlement on 1st June, the Cannonvale, Proserpine, Marian and Sarina stores will be integrated within the Porters business. Our existing Porters Hardware, Porters Whitsunday and Porters Building Supplies will also be aligned with Mitre 10 Group and will be bannered, Porter’s Mitre 10. There are no changes to Porters Plumbing Supplies, Glass & Aluminium and Truss & Frame divisions.

We will be making exciting changes to the stores over the coming months and look forward to sharing updates with our customers as we progress.

2. Will you be honouring Mitre 10 gift vouchers/ store cards?

Yes. Up until the integration date of 1st June stores will be business as usual. Any customers who have valid Woodman’s Mitre 10 gift cards will be able to use these within the new Porter’s Mitre 10 stores from the integration date of 1st June 2017. Any customers who have Porters gift cards will be able to use these within all Porter’s Mitre 10 branches and other Porters divisions.

3. What will happen to the Porters Rewards loyalty program?

The Porters Rewards program will initially continue as normal at existing Porters Stores only (Mackay City, Glass & Aluminium, Building Supplies, Plumbing Supplies and Whitsunday).
In the coming months, our loyal customers will be able to join the Mighty Rewards program; which offers new exciting opportunities such as online balance checking, instore offers, points for every $1 spent and other great bonuses.
We encourage our customers to initially continue to use their Porters Rewards card at existing Porters Branches. We will advise of the rollout and transition to the Mighty Rewards program shortly.

4. I have an account at Porters – will this be closed?

We will be contacting our valued account customers directly to discuss any changes – accounts will not be closed and will from 1st June include the new Porter’s Mitre 10 business.

5. I have an account at Woodman’s – will this be closed?

If customers have an account with Woodman’s and not with Porters we will be encouraging them to open a new account within the Porter’s Mitre 10 business.
If customers have an account with both Woodman’s and Porters we will be discussing credit limits and pricing with them.
